  • Ashton provides free Web-Enabled design tools for FPGAs and ASICs.

These 5 tools are RBUILD, MVER, MCALL, FLAV and ERPP.

RBUILD creates the software registers required for a chip, outputting all the necessary files from verilog, to xml Word documentation files, to 'C' files containing the definitions for creating software drivers.

MVER is a pre-processor that extends the Verilog language, adding direct supports for Flops, Signals, and mixed always blocks, allowing combinational and sequential logic to be combined in one place.

MCALL builds a module or a testbench to call lower level modules simply by scanning the lower level modules. It handles all the port variable declarations, and connectivity, and provides extensive comments indicating the source and destination of all connection wires.

FLAV is a formatting tool for Verilog or M-verilog code, suppporting many styles of indenting and code clarification.

ERPP is a pre-processor that allows designers to mix PERL code with Verilog or VHDL RTL. It is ideal for making parameterized, reconfigurable code, using the full power of PERL.

No installation of these tools is required. The web interface allows the input file to be uploaded easily, the tool runs on the Ashton server and seconds later the results are available for download.

Documentation and examples are provided. Online help is provided.

In addition, a number of IP Block Generators are also provided, covering CRCs, Scramblers, and LFSR counters.

Click here for more infomation, or to enroll as a tool member, letting you run the tools.
