Peter Cottreau: Founder and CEO

Peter is a proven leader with more than 30 years of management and technical experience in the semiconductor industry. Prior to founding Ashton Electronic Systems in 2006, Peter was the Director of Electronics & Software at Picarro Inc. where he was responsible for development & testing of electronics and control software for instrumentation lasers and ultra-sensitive trace-gas spectroscopic devices. Previously, he was a Manager of Hardware Development with Cisco Systems where he managed and lead the development of an IP/Optical router for metropolitan area networks. Since joining the industry, Peter has been awarded several patents for his design work.

In addition to managing the day to day activities at Ashton Systems, Peter is actively involved with customers (defining specifications and requirements) and assisting with technical design work for projects.

Peter holds an Electrical Engineering degree (B.A.Sc.) from Queens University in Kingston ON.

Eric Dormer: Hardware Design and Verification Engineer (FPGA, ASIC)

Eric's role is to help guide the strategic growth of Ashton Electronic Systems through the expansion of its library of intellectual property and the development of 'best-in-class' engineering tools and methodologies.

Before joining Ashton Systems in 2011, Eric was the founder and President of DesignPRO Inc - a contract engineering design services firm in Ottawa ON. Following the acquisition of DesignPRO by Altera Corporation, Eric served as the Director of the Altera Ottawa Advanced Technology Center.

Eric has a Masters in Business Administration from the University of Ottawa and an Electrical Engineering and Computer Science Degree (B.A.Sc.) from the University of Waterloo.
